The first week of the YCC program went very well. It was time to adapt to the new routine and connect with other participants. Each day offered beneficial workshops and activities that helped me connect to myself and other participants. The program schedule supports my goals, including waking up early, doing regular morning runs, and developing my public speaking skills.
This week, I learned interesting information about tree-planting projects that the High Atlas Foundation has been doing. I was very focused and excited to hear new information that I did not know about trees. For example, each one needs specific weather conditions in order for it to grow. Also, more people are becoming aware of the value of planting more trees that do not require a lot of water to successfully grow.
I deeply enjoyed the photography workshop since it is something I am passionate about. I got to understand more about the principles of cameras and photography. I learned about different tools related to lighting, contrast, and many other things. These are necessary in order to take professional pictures to show the story and feeling behind the images.
Additionally, we had a design workshop where we learned about the basics of design. It helped me to start noticing and analyzing different designs and the meaning behind them.
I got to know more about projects that are helping women and empowering them through various programs. I felt very happy and emotional while listening to the different stories of women.
We had multiple activities as a team and individually. We also had the chance to share our feelings, goals, memories, and hopes with one another.
We played, laughed, cried, and learned everything together.
Finally, I am happy to be using my time and energy to learn and grow within a supportive community in a beautiful place that is full of nature.
